Disability-affirming social events
Event Information
These events run in non-clinical, age-affirming settings that are free of expectations to conform to abled standards of what independent living and advocacy should look like. Our events are disability-led, accessible, pathogen-conscious, and created with the intent to unite our community through a collective effort for dignified care and disability justice.
Self Advocacy and Peer Support
Get Connected with Peer Support
Through collective action and care, we share our stories and create peer support opportunities for people currently institutionalized and struggling with systematic barriers. With community care and volunteer work we aim to provide support for self-advocates in attending rallies, meetings with guardians/coordinators, and contacting state legislators.
Wellness Pantry
Through donations we offer hygiene and health items for our members. We provide accessible healthcare items such as bathing wipes, briefs, masks, oral care aids, rinse-free shampoo and body wash. With support from the community, we aim to integrate access to donated accessibility tools such as canes, walkers, commodes, and wheelchairs.
Transportation
Through volunteer support, and when within our capacity, we offer transportation to and from events. This volunteer will be connected with you through email, and you can discuss with them how they can best support you or your loved one. It is important to note that this is not a medical transportation service, and offered as an act of mutual aid and support.
